Those of us here in the Doom Bunny borough were recently contacted by a new company who offered us a distribution deal for the Bloodwine movie. We are very excited about the prospects of getting the film out to the fans and creative folks who have waited so long for a copy. With this in mind, it is still going to take a bit to disseminate the contract, weigh our options and deliver the materials once we reach a suitable agreement.
Once the deal is finally in place I will be able to pass along the information about the company that generously offered to help us make our project available to the masses on DVD. Thank you for being patient and for supporting our work. We'll keep you posted on the progress.

BLOODWINE Review at Pretty Scary
Heidi Martinuzzi shared her thoughts on Bloodwine and gave high marks for the technical savvy of the production, including the effects, lighting and art direction.
"Bloodwine is unique and unpredictable. It also does a great deal to redeem the state of real female friendships in the horror genre."

BLOODWINE Review by CABFan
Andy, a one-time hardcore vamp fanatic gave Bloodwine high marks for achieving what Hollywood could not hope to.
"In summary, Patrick and the fine cast and crew from Doom Bunny Films have created a fresh new vampire film in a fine Texas independent fashion....They've created something that's been lost from Hollywood for many years, the ability to tell a pure and honest story in grand fashion on a very small budget."

INDIE FEST USA Winner for Best Makeup
You may have noticed the addition of the laurel leaves underneath the Bloodwine logo. The accomplishments of the cast and crew were recognized at Indie Fest USA this weekend as Bloodwine received four nominations and a win. The movie was nominated in the categories of Best Special Effects, Best Costumes, Best Makeup and Best Feature Film.We wanted to specifically offer Heather Whitsell a sounding congratulations for winning the Best Makeup category. As pictured, Lora and Vanessa attended the award ceremony on Friday night and accepted the award on Heather's behalf.

Although we piled on a tough job including full-body painting and maintining the stylized designs of different looks for Andrea on different story-days, Heather worked like a trooper under an impossible schedule with tight deadlines to get the look required for the characters. We couldn't be more proud of her in this achievement and are especially impressed that the festival voters and judges recognized this particular acheivement.
Coming from primarily a theater experience, this is the first feature film Heather has worked on. While most of us had the flu during shooting, she pulled up her bootstraps and wrangled the wardrobe, handled all the makeup tasks and performed one of the supporting roles. Even though we constantly goaded her with an "ETA" of when the actors would be ready to shoot, she delivered with great spirit and little grumbling of the gruelling circumstances. I can't wait to work with her on a project again. Thanks again, Heather, you make us proud!
I also want to thank Lora and Vaneassa for braving the trip to the coast
beyond the desert. They did a great job of
beyond the desert. They did a great job of getting the word out about the film and worked tirelessly to promote and advertise the movie and the screening. Our two gorgeous vampires did their best to make the Bunny proud and we couldn't be more impressed with their willingness to support the project and give of their time for the cause.
I have been very happy with the fine accolades and reviews we have received so far for the film. Feedback from the show indicated most attendees were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the production considering its budget level. Most of the comments reflected a very positive response in terms of acting, writing and the overall tone of the film being very character-driven. This is not your little brother's vampire flick!

BLOODWINE Review at Film Arcade
Anthony Thurber posted a great review over at Film Arcade and spotlights the acting talent along with the writing and directing.
"Bloodwine is the best vampire film that I’ve seen this year, so far. Director Patrick Keith . . . brought a dark and gothic tone, in the presentation of the film."

Update from Anaheim by Lora & Vanessa
So the festival has FINALLY started and movies have been rolling all evening! There was an awesome band called "Sorry, Nelson" performing who ALSO had a very cool film premiering here (but the base player, Louis, shouldn't be allowed to have popcorn in the theatre, lol). Following their performance was a group called Petral, and a short runway show from designer whose French name I can't remember. Workshops are very informative. One movie I liked today was called The End. The star was a friendly Canadian who also wrote and directed this very unusual film. I recommend it for a good laugh! Going in we were all a little skeptical, but he had a unique idea and totally followed through with it! Congrats Jeremy & Ella--everybody really really loved it! There were lots of shorts to appreciate that were all very different from each other. There were so many great shorts that I could go on and on.
In addition, there are lots of men running around with cameras getting great footage of the festival and lots of interviews. I understand that a documentary is being made. My co-star and I did an interview via poolside with actor/director/action stunt-man Kely McClung (who also did a workshop). Very dedicated individuals here!!!!!
The walk from the hotel is not too bad and we get into most things free. my personal favorite is the Rain Forest Cafe-worst thing about this trip is all the annoying children in the hotel! But, we get fireworks every night to make up for it. Everybody is loving the venue!
I have met some very sweet people! So honest, passionate, and helpful!
Not to mention the men are gorgeous! lol!

Doom Bunny was drinking a Peach Tea in Disneyland this morning. Lora and I in front of the Year of a Million Dreams. Doom Bunny and I taking a pic together. A pic from Friday when we went to Build-A-Bear in Disneyland-I had to pose with the list since it seemed so adult in content as well as very demanding (Carmilla approves! HAHA!)

BLOODWINE Review at Rogue Cinema
Duane L. Martin posted a snappy review of the flick over at Rogue Cinema and gives big kudos to the skill and talent of the entire cast and crew.
"Technically, the film was quite well done. It had good camera work, some great special effects (that many film makers could learn from because they were simple but really cool effects that can be done cheaply or at no cost), the sound was really good, the music was excellent and matched well with the content of the film, and generally the film had a great look to it."
