You may have noticed the addition of the laurel leaves underneath the
Bloodwine logo. The accomplishments of the cast and crew were recognized at Indie Fest USA this weekend as
Bloodwine received four nominations and a win. The movie was nominated in the categories of Best Special Effects, Best Costumes, Best Makeup and Best Feature Film.
We wanted to specifically offer
Heather Whitsell a sounding congratulations for winning the
Best Makeup category. As pictured, Lora and Vanessa attended the award ceremony on Friday night and accepted the award on Heather's behalf.

Although we piled on a tough job including full-body painting and maintining the stylized designs of different looks for Andrea on different story-days, Heather worked like a trooper under an impossible schedule with tight deadlines to get the look required for the characters. We couldn't be more proud of her in this achievement and are especially impressed that the festival voters and judges recognized this particular acheivement.
Coming from primarily a theater experience, this is the first feature film Heather has worked on. While most of us had the flu during shooting, she pulled up her bootstraps and wrangled the wardrobe, handled all the makeup tasks and performed one of the supporting roles. Even though we constantly goaded her with an "ETA" of when the actors would be ready to shoot, she delivered with great spirit and little grumbling of the gruelling circumstances. I can't wait to work with her on a project again. Thanks again, Heather, you make us proud!
I also want to thank Lora and Vaneassa for braving the trip to the coast

beyond the desert. They did a great job of
getting the word out about the film and worked tirelessly to promote and advertise the movie and the screening. Our two gorgeous vampires did their best to make the Bunny proud and we couldn't be more impressed with their willingness to support the project and give of their time for the cause.
I have been very happy with the fine accolades and reviews we have received so far for the film. Feedback from the show indicated most attendees were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the production considering its budget level. Most of the comments reflected a very positive response in terms of acting, writing and the overall tone of the film being very character-driven. This is not your little brother's vampire flick!
More news as it happens.
